Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's luxurious engagement party grabbed eyeballs with its flamboyant arrangement, apart from the celebrities who graced the occasion.
Right from the serene decor to the delicacies served, Akash and Shloka's engagement was all about its grandeur, which is why it will remain etched in our memories.
The lavish engagement party reminded us of other recent high-end celebrity wedding ceremonies, like that of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma or Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja.
Turns out, there were indeed a few similarities between Akash and Shloka's engagement, and Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's wedding.
BOTH THE BRIDES WORE SABYASACHI ENSEMBLES
Both Anushka and Shloka opted for Sabyasachi ensembles for their engagement ceremonies. While Anushka wore a burgundy velvet saree for her engagement, Shloka dazzled in a pink lehenga, hand-embroidered with chiffon appliques, cut-glass beads and zardosi, at her engagement on June 28.

At the party last night, Shloka, however, wore an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga. Anushka, on the other hand, stuck to Sabyasachi ensembles throughout her wedding ceremonies.
FOOD AT BOTH EVENTS PREPARED BY THE SAME CHEF
For the engagement party, held at Antilia last night, June 30, celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia had been roped in to prepare an elaborate platter for the guests.
Ritu, chef and co-owner of the popular Italian restaurant Diva, also made and served gourmet pizzas to the guests herself.

Food at Akash and Shloka's engagement ceremony was divided into three counters that served Italian, Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisines respectively.
Fresh burrata, ricota, asparagus and black truffles were flown in from Italy with Italian chefs.
Luxury Parisian bakery Laduree had also set up a separate parlour that displayed some of their best pastries, including Marie Antoinette cake, Praline bomb, Opera, French toast and their famous hot chocolate.
Ritu had earlier catered at Virat and Anushka Sharma's wedding at which in-house specialities from her Indian restaurant in Milan, Cittamani, were served. From porcini mushrooms wrapped in bikaneri roti to stuffed ravioli with paneer kurchan, the menu at Virat and Anushka's wedding was tailor-made. The spread was extensive South Indian, with Indian desserts like rabdi, among other dishes.
