More often than not, people either fall short of clothes and accessories or have too many of them during a trip.
Travel entails a lot of smart decision-making - from planning an itinerary to packing your bag.
Carrying too many bags on a vacation becomes a burden, quite literally. Again, running out of necessary items on a trip can also be quite a hassle, especially if it is a long one.
In such a case, how do you ensure you have packed your luggage correctly?
Here are some tips on how to pack for a weeklong trip:
1. Know your destination well, prepare a checklist
Before packing you luggage, study your destination well - from climate to the terrain - and pack clothes and other essentials accordingly. Make a checklist first so that you don't end up forgetting any necessary item.
2. What to pack
For a weeklong trip, carry adequate number of undergarments (and an extra one). Make sure you pack an everyday pair of sandals apart from other pairs of shoes. To reduce the luggage, try packing clothes that you can wear with more than one outfit. Carry minimum accessories and travel-sized toiletries.

3. Never pack to capacity
A weeklong trip won't exactly require a big suitcase. A moderately-sized bag should suffice. Pick the right bag so that there's some extra space left in it, in case you plan to go shopping on your trip.
4. Roll up your clothes
This can save a lot of space in your bag while keeping wrinkles away. Packing items in kits can also leave more space in the bag. One should avoid adding last-minute items because that will only make your luggage heavier.
5. Go shopping
Instead of packing your bag to capacity, pick up items at your destination, but not so much that you end up overloading your bag.
